MANAGING THE DIFFICULT CUSTOMER (and getting paid for your work) ~ Linville’s seminar addresses how to recognize the warning signs of a difficult customer at the outset, how to avoid claims for deceptive advertising, how to control and manage a difficult customer during the formative stages of the project which include drawings, specs and the contract, how to cover yourself during the course of the project with the appropriate project documentation such as change orders, meeting minutes, emails, etc., how to structure your business to protect yourself from the litigious customer, how to firmly manage the project (and your customer) in terms of scheduling, decision-making, progress payments, product selections, etc., and (finally) how to show the love during the warranty period.
