    List of Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform all levels of preventive maintenance service with thorough and accurate records
    • Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair order
    • Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other important fleet vehicle parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition
    • Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating machinery and vehicles
    • Inspect, test and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments such as hand held computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts and pressure gauges
    List of General Responsibilities:
    • Road test vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly
    • Use hand tools and power tools to maintain vehicles and repair malfunctions
    • Adjust and replace brakes, tighten bolts and screws and reassemble equipment
    • Rescue broken down trucks when necessary
    • Other projects and tasks as required by the job
    Must Have Knowledge of:
    • Proficiency in the use of all tools of trade (including welding equipment, diagnostic equipment, hand and power tools)
    • Able to effectively use hand tools such as screw drivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments
    • Able to effectively use power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, jacks and hoists
    Skills, Knowledge and Attitude for Job:
    • High school diploma or equivalent    
    • Vocational/Technical or certification preferred
    • Valid U.S. Driver’s License            
    • Specialized training and experience in the diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components certification preferred
    • Five years practical experience with truck mechanics and maintenance required
    Must Be Aware of Attributes/Attitudes/Aptitudes:
    • Knowledge of all company policies
    • Compliance with company safety procedures
    • Ability to perform duties with little or no supervision in a timely and efficient manner
    • Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions
